Tapke Named As New KCAA President

Kenton County Attorney Stacy Tapke has been named president of the Kentucky County Attorneys Association (KCAA) for a two year term beginning January 2021.  Mrs. Tapke currently serves as KCAA Vice-President.

The Kentucky County Attorneys Association (KCAA) was created to promote cooperation among Kentucky’s County Attorneys, ensure strong and effective prosecution in Kentucky's justice system, help County Attorneys provide sound advice and counsel to all county agencies and organizations they serve, and preserve the mutual interests of County Attorneys, their communities, and the state of Kentucky are promoted in all matters. Mrs. Tapke has been on the Board of Directors for four years and is looking forward to continuing her service to all the 120 County Attorneys throughout the Commonwealth.

"It is truly an honor and a privilege to be elected by my peers to lead the KCAA over the next 2 years,” said Mrs. Tapke.  “I am joined by an incredibly talented Board of Directors who represent all parts of the Commonwealth.  I appreciate how my fellow County Attorneys always join together in a non-partisan manner to do what is in the best interest of justice and our local communities.”

Other Board members include Immediate Past-President Martin Hatfield (Pulaski); Vice-President Jenny Oldham (Hardin), Treasurer Alan George (Woodford), Secretary Jennie Haymond (Madison), and Directors Mike O’Connell (Jefferson), Jeremy Logsdon (Grayson), Joseph Ross (Logan) and Kevin Cockrell (Montgomery).

Mrs. Tapke is currently serving in her second term as Kenton County Attorney.  She is the first woman in Kenton County’s history to hold this office. Mrs.  Tapke has served on several local non-profits and professional organizations, including serving secretary of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, past-president of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Section, and as a past member of the Northern Kentucky Chamber’s Board of Directors.  In 2016 she was honored as one of Northern Kentucky's Outstanding Women of the Year, and in 2018 the Kentucky Attorney General recognized Mrs. Tapke as County Attorney of the Year.
