Kenton Child Support Paternity Supervisor, Named Contracting Official Employee of the Year

The Kenton County Child Support office is proud to have one of their veteran employees honored, as the Commonwealth’s Contracting Official Employee of the Year.  Laura Byland serves as the Paternity Supervisor and has been with the office for nearly two decades.  The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) recognized Ms. Byland during a virtual awards ceremony held on Thursday, November 19, 2020.

“Over the past year, Laura Byland has shown extraordinary leadership and dedication in the pursuit of support for the children of Kenton County. While continuing to serve as the supervisor of the paternity team, Ms. Byland spearheaded projects for the office for the benefit of our families,” says Kenton County Attorney, Stacy Tapke.  “For more than 18 years, she has been an indispensable member of the Kenton County Child Support Office, and she is most deserving of being recognized by the state for her work.”

The Kenton County Child Support office provides a wide range of services including, establishing paternity, setting and modifying child support obligations, establishing medical support orders, monitoring child support payments and fulfilling the performance goals set by the Commonwealth of Kentucky

The Kenton County Child Support Office currently has over 12,000 open child support cases, making it the third largest child support office in the Commonwealth.
