County Attorney Traffic Safety Program:
The Kenton County Attorney Traffic Safety Program may allow your traffic citation to be dismissed upon successful completion of the program. The cost of the program is $170 and payment can be made online. The program consists of the acclaimed traffic safety video program SMARTDRIVER: “Strategies For Survival.” The video content can be viewed over the internet and you can complete the program in the comfort of your own home. Following the video, you will be asked to complete a series of questions based on the content in the video. Upon successful completion of the program, the violation will be dismissed and no points will be assessed against your operator’s license. IF you pass, your citation will be dismissed and you will not need to appear in court or pay your ticket. If you fail, you will need to contact the County Attorney's Office for further consideration.
There is no need to do anything at this time. Your citation will be screened by the County Attorney's Office, and IF you are eligible for the program, you will receive a letter or postcard in the mail automatically that will provide further instructions.
